Si Cooper is a young singer/songwriter based in the city of Worcester .
Simon, formerly of “Convinced!” is now writing and performing his own music. In the past, solo performances have stretched from in front of 10 people to being in front of thousands at the Royal Albert Hall.
There is no real set genre to his music – Simon is very versatile and his unique voice ranges from rap to rock to pop to dance to ballads, from modern original material to cover versions from the 60's.
| Simon began his song-writing with a band called “Honest” who were formed to perform at a service. After a while, he began to write a lot more and formed a band to enter into a Battle of the Bands. With that band, Convinced!, 2 EP's were released – “My Life's Spread” and “Take 72” Simon has since begun as a solo artist. | |
Since going solo, Simon regularly performed at Re:Generation, an event in Hinckley where he has had chance to showcase his own material. He has also sung at many church services and also conducted a praise service with all of his own music. In 2003, Simon released a debut EP which was featured with an interview on BBC Radio Leicester.
2004 has seen Simon perform in a concert at Hinckley Methodist Church , and have his own stage at Hinckley Carnival in June. July also saw a stage piece at Blackpool Winter Gardens as part of MAYC's Breakout.
In 2005, Simon sang at the youth venue at Easter People and was part of the original touring cast of the Roger Jones musical “Jail Break” which continued into 2006. Simon took the lead part in 12 venues and performed to thousands across the UK . Also on 2006, Simon was the voice behind the music on the Lent Project's “Echoes of Empty Streets” which is available through all Shelter's charity shops nationwide. Simon also presented a show on Vine FM in Hinckley .
Simon's versatility to mix covers with original material makes the evening contain something for everyone, and interspersed with anecdotes and interactive games. From the young to the old, people can't fail to enjoy a night with Si Cooper – you're sure to be entertained!!
